Highlands

Minotaur 100%, Area 667km²

Just 50km east of Mt Isa the Highlands Project straddles a major geological boundary between the Kalkadoon-Leichhardt Domain to the west and the Eastern Domain to the east, separated by the regional-scale Mt Remarkable Fault.

Copper sulphide mineralisation is known to occur in the area, most notably at the Barbara mine located adjacent to the tenement group.

The previous owner conducted several wide area VTEM (airborne electromagnetic) surveys, each of which located numerous basement conductors indicative of sulphide mineralisation. Minotaur has built on that data, acquiring copper sulphide rock chip samples and EM targets coincident with the VTEM responses, all suggesting the presence of copper mineralisation.

Minotaur’s intent is to demonstrate the presence of copper sulphides (chalcopyrite) as is present at Barbara, thereby establishing prospectivity for copper-gold mineralisation around the tenement group.
